Frequently Asked Questions.

Where are you located?

We are located at 6835 Fresh Pond Road, Ridgewood, NY.

How can I get to the studio?

We are located close to the M train off of the Fresh Pond Road stop and the Q58, B13 and B20 buses. There is meter and street parking available for those who are driving.

I am brand new Pilates. Where should I start?

We recommend starting with the Pilates Essentials/Beginner’s Level class or a private session to help you become more familiar and comfortable with Pilates equipment and terminology.

How do I sign up for a class?

We use a booking system called Momence which is how you can buy and book your class. Check out our pricing tab to buy a class or our schedule tab to book a class. We do not book classes or take payments in the studio. Everything is done on the Momence platform from the convenience of your phone or desktop computer.

What do I need to bring and wear?

Please wear appropriate/comfortable workout/yoga clothing, ideally with no zippers to protect our equipment. Socks/grippy socks, or be barefoot are acceptable blue for all of our classes. If your socks are not grippy on the bottom, they may be slippery and may need to be removed for some exercises. You can bring a water bottle and towel as well.

What is the lateness policy?

Late entrance to your class is not allowed past 10 minutes of the start time of your class. Late entrance disrupts the flow of class and the warm up is important for your safety so please do your best to show up to your class on time.

What is the Waitlist?

Adding yourself to the waitlist will ensure your spot if there is a cancellation. If a spot opens up, you will be automatically added to the class up to three hours before the class starts. If you are no longer able to attend, you need to remove yourself from the waitlist 24-hours before the scheduled class time. If you are added to the class, the 24-hour cancellation policy does apply.

What does open level mean?

Open level means welcome to all. Most of our classes are open level so all students can join regardless if you are a beginner or experienced mover. Check out our class descriptions to see what classes are and are not open level. If you have an injury or condition that may affect your movement and participation in group classes, it is your responsibility to communicate with the studio and your instructor so that we can make proper accommodations and recommendations for appropriate session or modifications.

Can I take Pilates if I’m pregnant?

Yes, absolutely! You can do Pilates while pregnant but make sure you work with a qualified instructor and consult your doctor first.

Pilates can help to prepare your body to meet the demands of carrying a baby by strengthening the back, hips, upper body and pelvic floor muscles for a smooth postpartum recovery. Once you are in your second trimester or are brand new to Pilates, we recommend taking private classes. And always inform your instructor about any pain or discomfort  you're experiencing.

What is the cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel more than 24 hours before your class, you get your full credit back into your account. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your class, this credit is forfeited and charged in full.

When should I arrive?

All of our classes are 55 minutes long so there is only 5 minutes between classes for transition time. Please arrive 5-10 minute prior to your scheduled class time to settle in and get ready for class.
